Well, as we're heading into May, it seems the warmer weather (I didn't say anything about sunshine) is here to stay, things are getting sticky and despite the rain, I think things are still pretty humid. Moving on, here are a few products which I think will be essential over the summer months.
Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop - £16.50 - The Cheek Pops are a fairly recent launch for Clinique and if, like me, your second home is the internet, then you will have noticed there's a pretty good buzz around these super pigmented blushes. As you can see, it has super cute packaging and almost seems a shame to disturb the pretty daisy design. Whilst you'd expect the blush to be a powder, the texture seems to be somewhere between a powder and a cream formulation making these long lasting on the skin despite the sticky feeling in the air.
Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub - £12.50 - Now is probably the first time your skin has seen the outside world in a good few months. To help slough away dead, dry and sad looking skin, it's wise to invest in a good body scrub. This one's a cracker, it looks and smells like fresh raspberry jam and uses raspberry seeds to exfoliate. Whilst this one's good enough to eat, I wouldn't recommend it, it does taste like soap (not that I'd know of course).
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR - £21.00 - This stuff is a summer staple for many a beauty editor. This is a super nourishing body oil with just a hint of shimmer, the smell alone is enough to remind you of sunny summer holidays abroad. The plant based oil can be used all over your body to hydrate and repair angry skin (bye bye scaly chicken legs!) and any left over oil can be lightly smoothed through your hair for a slight glow. Just be sure to give the bottle a shake first.
Dior Lip Glow - £22.50 - I've rambled about this before, a made to measure lip balm which reacts to everyone's lips slightly differently giving a unique colour for each wearer. No one likes dry lips over the summer, we want full luscious lips we can slather with a brightly coloured gloss so it's important to keep them nourished. This product also has SPF built in so hopefully you can avoid burnt lips this summer.
Leighton Denny - Bon Voyage - £11 - A gorgeous colour for summer, this is a coral/tangerine shade which will look lovely on even the palest of ladies. Make sure to keep your talons chip free and don't skip on the hand cream this summer, your hands on one of the first places to show signs of aging so it's important to look after them.
What are your summer essentials?
