Outfit Of The Day - The Statement Jumper

As my last outfit based post seemed to be quite popular with you lovely lot, I thought I'd make more of an effort to up the stakes and post even more fashion based posts. Naturally I'll keep going until I've run out of clothes in my wardrobe, we could be here a while eh?

Moving on, today I'm focusing on a statement (well, this is a statement for me) jumper with some rather lush berry coloured skinny jeans.
I need to be honest here and say that when I picked up this jumper, I had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE on how to style it! As such, I settled on picking out one of the many colours on the panel and trying to match the lower half.

Today, I'm wearing:

Jumper: Warehouse
Skinny Jeans: Oasis
Boots: Clarks
The jumper is pretty out of my comfort zone but it's so unique! The sleeves are a cream colour and made from your usual sweatshirt style material. However, as you can see, the front of the jumper has been replaced with an oriental patterned silk fabric.

The jeans are from Oasis and are apparently cropped, however, these hit me right on the ankle making them ideal for tucking onto ankle boots. The fabric is super stretchy which is great as there is nothing worse than feeling restricted by your clothes.
WHY SO SERIOUS?

I was going for pensive, not quite sure if that comes across. Either way, here's a closer look at my lovely jumper and a sneaky peek at my make-up.

I'm wearing the new Lancome Air De Teint foundation which is incredibly light, it covers up most of my imperfections creating the illusion I'm wearing nothing at all. If only my skin could go back to behaving! I'm also wearing a Clinique Chubby Stick on my lips, Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze on my eyes and my Soap & Glory Mascara. Told you I like things pretty natural.

How would you style a statement jumper? I wonder if this'd work with a denim mini?

  1. I like that you paired such a muted print with the berry pants. It definitely makes the outfit pop. I would also pair the sweater with light jeans, maybe distressed ones, to contrast the sweet print with some roughed-up denim. I also think a skater skirt is a great idea. A light neutral and denim skirt would be perfect!

    1. Thank you for the new ideas Liz, I'm really not confident when it's comes to things out of my comfort zone so I've literally only worn this jumper with the berry skinnies as I had no idea what else would work. I like the idea of teaming it with distressed jeans (seeing as I've only just bought a pair) I might have to give that a go as I think you're right, the contrast would give my outfit another element. I'll have to give it a go and keep you posted on what I think.

You know what it's like when you're trying something new, you're never quite sure if it looks right because you're not used to seeing yourself dressed that way!!!
