Bumble & Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil Travel Set - A Review

I think that little travel collections are a great way to try a range or product without having to commit too much of your hard earned cash. I've lost count of the number of times I've splashed the cash on a product before, only to find after one or two uses, it's really not for me.
A range which I've recently been trying out is the fairly new Hairdresser's Invisible Oil range from Bumble and Bumble which you can pick up HERE for £19.50. Inside the collection you get a shampoo, conditioner and a heat/uv protection primer all of which are 60ml so more than enough for you to see if they're really for you.

If you're not familiar with the Invisible Oil range, it's basically sulfate free and infused with 6 super light oils which help to soften dry/damaged hair without weighing it down. I thought this would be an ideal range to try for my fine but colour damaged hair.

Overall my two favourite products were the shampoo and the primer. The shampoo gave my hair a thorough cleansing without leaving my scalp feeling dry and without stripping my hair. It was gentle enough to use everyday and made my fine hair feel strong and healthy. I also noticed that you didn't need a lot of product to get a really good lather so I can see the full size lasting a really long time. Did I mentioned it smells frikken awesome?

The conditioner was OK, again it smelled incredible and it was very light weight. My main issue was that when I put any leftover conditioner anywhere my roots, my hair was left looking greasy the next morning. In addition, I didn't feel it was as nourishing on my ends as some other conditions I own.

The primer was fantastic, I used this on my hair while it was still damp and then gave my hair a blast with my drier. It left my hair feeling incredibly soft and it also helped to prevent it from getting all tangled and knotty. I'm always keen to protect my hair from heat damage and this stuff really helped to protect my hair and keep it feeling strong and looking shiny. I reckon I'll be grabbing a full size of this when it's gone.

Overall the range has some real gems, what works for me may not work for you though so it's worth trying them for yourself to see. Other bloggers loved the conditioner but hated the shampoo but it's all about personal preference I suppose!

Have you tried the Hairdresser's Invisible Oil range from Bumble & Bumble? What did you think?

Beauty Update - Reviews to look forward to!

Today, my post shall be short and sweet!

I know that lately most of my posts have centred around food and fashion and that on the beauty front, things are a wee bit quieter than normal. Now, this isn't because I've lost my love of beauty products, I mean, this is me we're talking about, do be serious! This is mainly because I'm trying out lots of different bits and pieces which I really want to test drive before reviewing.

In addition as I'm a frugal soul, I obviously can't justifying purchasing like a gazillion cleansers and shampoos, I gotta use stuff up first.

Anyways, here are some bits I'm currently trialling (or I've picked up and plan on trying soon) and my initial thoughts, I will be doing a more thorough review in due course so please do keep your peepers peeled.
So the first thing is the Caudalie Divine Legs which I purchased towards the start of the summer as I am a terrible fake tanner, I tried to it once and never tried again. I've only had the chance to use it a couple of times but I will say the following 1) No it doesn't go on the skin that dark a colour, 2) it washes off with soap and water and 3) it takes a little practice to apply properly but isn't overly fiddly.
A more recent purchase is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray which I actually got in the smaller size as I didn't want to commit to the full size just yet. First impressions? It certainly seems to do what it says on the tin. I popped my make-up on at around 11am on Saturday morning before heading off for a VIP Experience to see the Saturdays. On inspection of my fizzog on the way home at 11pm on Saturday evening, my eyeshadow had barely started creasing.
I am loving this range right now and lets be honest, sometimes we can't be bothered with a full cleanse. Wipes are the lazy girls option and these Yes to Brightening Wipes are lovely and zingy and do seem to lightly exfoliate and brighten my skin. My first thoughts are that these are an absolute bargain and I'm keen to get my mitts on the cucumber ones next.
Finally, I actually treated myself to the travel sizes of the new Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil range with a Boots gift voucher I received from my old work colleagues. I love Bumble & Bumble, but as the products can be a little on the pricey side, I don't always let myself splurge. As these are nice and small in size, I can try the whole range without committing and spending a fortune. As they're travel friendly sizes their ideal for any little adventures we may find ourselves on!

See, I have been busy! Keep your peepers peeled for some thorough reviews soon.

What Laura Wants - Revisited in Time for Christmas

You're sick of hearing this I am sure, but with Christmas around the corner I thought it might be fun to revisit What Laura Wants.  While most of the items this week are notably beauty related, there are some other things on my hit list which I've got my beady little eye on.

First of all is the The Hummingbird Bakery Home Sweet Home which can be picked up for only £5 from Amazon.  I loved their previous cookbook and found their recipes to be pretty much fool-proof. As such, I am naturally hoping that this offering is much the same. With recipes such as custard cream cupcakes, black bottom pie and raspberry and jelly rolls this sounds as if it'll be a treat to play with and resulting in an expanding waist line.

Next, these Satin Revere Pyjamas by Rosie for Autograph at £35 from M&S look absolutely gorgeous. Whilst satin might not be the best idea for colder climes, I love how luxurious these feel certainly more expensive than they are. They come pre-boxed and would be a treat to open on Christmas day. I have to be honest and say I love nothing more than coming home from work and diving into some clean PJ's and these would make a welcome addition to my mismatched collection.

Now as I am sure you know, I have become incredibly fond of a certain cream cleanser over the past month or so. However, I have been hearing rave reviews about the Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser which is £25 from BeingContent. This is an organic cleanser which removes impurities and make-up, whilst being 100% natural.  It has a rather large celebrity fan base (including Natalie Portman) and many swear by it's ability to calm their skin when things are getting stressful.

Right, it should be known I have fine hair and a lot of it.  My hair has a tendency to fall flat and even after an age of trying to curl it, it will often revert to it's naturally floppy state only a few minutes later. Some bloggers have recommended trying products from the Bumble & Bumble range to help give my hair some much needed OOOOMPH. You can imagine my joy when I spotted the Tousled Two-Step which can be purchased for £27 from Space NK.  It includes a thickening hair spray and a texturising cream to give your hair that undone look thus making it a great introduction to the range.

Finally, I should point out that I am actually about to polish off a bottle of this stuff.  The Lancome Eau Micellaire Douceur can be picked up for £22.50 from Boots and it's a multi-function treat which has lasted me for months!  I use this remove all of my make-up in the evening (although waterproof make-up will need something tougher). Or if I'm feeling super lazy it works as a cleanser/toner for those nights when you can't be bothered to do a full cleanse.  I only do this if I've not left the house all day or I'm about to sling on a face mask.  Anywho, the points is that as I'm running out and I'd be grateful for a little replenishment if anyone is feeling a wee bit generous.

What are you hoping Santa will bring you this year?
